Eco Travel Network - Low Carbon Road Transport Initiative of the Year winners

The Eco Travel Network offers fun, lightweight, eco friendly travel across the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Visitors to the Brecon Beacons are welcome to hire one of our fleet of Renault Twizys  from local tourist business partners across the Park.

We provide an informal, 13amp charging network across the area with people who share our vision for funky eco transport and are happy to provide you with a top up charge for your Twizy. This network also provides our visitors with an interesting choice of attractions to visit, activities to try and places to eat and drink. You can find a map of Twizy charge points here.

If you are visiting the area in your own electric vehicle, please consult Zapmap to find charge points which cater for a range of electric vehicles.

The Eco Travel Network provides a fun alternative to getting about whilst visiting or living in the National Park. We look forward to welcoming you to Mid Wales and the Brecon Beacons National Park and introducing you to a different and fun way of travelling.

The Eco Travel Network was established in 2012 with the help of a grant from the Brecon Beacons Sustainable Development Fund.

Follow us on Twitter, Facebook or our wider activities on the Eco Funky Travel Blog.

We can now offer 7 different locations across the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains where you can hire a Twizy and enjoy a day out or a w/e break with a difference.

ETN - Low CVP Low Carbon Champions - Judges said that the Eco Travel Network is providing a cost effective way of enabling individuals to gain first-hand experience in using electric vehicles via a car hire service and demonstrating how electric vehicles can be deployed in rural communities.
